11th Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival Named After Suheir El-Morshidi
Director Mazen El-Gharbawi announces naming the 11th edition of Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival after veteran actress Suheir El-Morshidi, alongside honoring prominent stars and state support for cultural events.
Director Mazen El-Gharbawi announced that the 11th edition of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival will bear the name of veteran actress Suheir El-Morshidi, honoring her remarkable contributions to Egyptian and Arab theater.
During the ceremony, veteran actress Suheir El-Bably performed the famous monologue "Al-Kalima" from Abdel Rahman Al-Sharqawi’s play Al-Hussein Thayer, receiving a standing ovation from the audience in a special artistic moment celebrating the honored actress.
The festival management, headed by Mazen El-Gharbawi, is preparing for the closing ceremony of the 10th edition at Sharm El-Sheikh Cultural Palace, attended by Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, South Sinai Governor Major General Khaled Mubarak, and numerous stars from Egypt, the Arab world, and internationally, including actress Elham Shahin and actor Hany Ramzy.
The festival is held under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, highlighting Egypt’s cultural heritage and enhancing its global tourism and cultural standing. The festival also enjoys full support from South Sinai Governorate, golden sponsorship from the National Bank of Egypt, Ain Production Company, and Dhofar Municipality in Oman.
The 10th edition is managed by Dr. Engy El-Bastawy, with the supreme committee chaired by producer Hesham Sleiman, and the honorary presidency held by the late Arab theater icon Samia Ayoub. This edition bears the name of star Elham Shahin, honoring her long artistic career and continuous support for theater and the arts.
