The Ninth Circuit of Assiut Criminal Court sentenced a worker to 16 years in prison for killing his friend, after suspecting the victim possessed private photos and videos of the worker’s sister.
The incident began when police received a report that the victim, Mohamed B.G., 35, had arrived at the hospital with stab wounds to the neck and chest. He was transferred to Assiut University Hospital but died during emergency treatment.
Investigations revealed that the accused lured his friend under the guise of friendship to a nearby village, where the victim rode his motorcycle. Once away from bystanders, the worker pulled out a knife and attacked the victim, causing fatal injuries. He then stole the motorcycle, mobile phone, and ID card before fleeing.
Police tracked and arrested the suspect, who admitted to the crime. The court subsequently sentenced him to 16 years of maximum security imprisonment.
