A bizarre incident in Sohag… Unemployed man and housewife arrested for stealing a water cooler
Security forces arrested an unemployed man and a housewife after a viral video showed them stealing a water cooler and a car cover using a tricycle with no license plates in Sohag.
The Ministry of Interior revealed details surrounding a viral video that spread on social media, showing a man and a woman riding a tricycle without license plates while stealing a water cooler and a car cover in Sohag Governorate.
According to the ministry’s statement, security services immediately examined the circulated footage and found no prior official reports of the incident. However, swift investigations led to the identification of the suspects.
Upon executing the necessary legal procedures, police managed to arrest the two offenders — an unemployed man and a housewife residing in the Akhmim district. When confronted, both confessed to committing the theft as seen in the video and guided authorities to the stolen items, which were subsequently recovered along with the tricycle used in the act.
Legal measures were taken, and the suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
