After 12 years of uncertainty and search efforts, security authorities have closed the chapter on one of the most well-known child abduction cases, announcing the arrest of the suspect involved in the kidnapping of Nada, widely known as the “Abbassia child,” and her return to her family.
The case dates back to 2014, when the young girl disappeared under mysterious circumstances, prompting years of continuous searching and unanswered questions from her family, until a breakthrough came with the confirmation of her identity through DNA analysis.
Following her return, emotions of overwhelming joy and disbelief filled the family, particularly her mother, who described the moment of reunion as one that is difficult to fully comprehend after such a long absence.
In her remarks, Nada’s mother expressed that she never lost hope throughout the years and always felt that her daughter would return one day, holding onto that belief despite the passage of time.
She added that she immediately recognized her daughter upon seeing her photo, noting that her appearance had not changed significantly, and that the family experienced immense happiness upon reuniting.
For her part, Nada was unable to recall the details of her early childhood abduction, given her young age at the time. However, she was able to recognize her mother instantly upon seeing her, in a deeply emotional moment that marked the end of years of separation.
This case remains one of the most notable child abduction stories that captured public attention for years, concluding with a resolution that brought closure and a long-awaited reunion.
