The Criminal Court of Cairo, located in New Cairo, witnessed the arrival of defendants in the drug manufacturing case, headed by producer Sara Khalifa.
One defendant’s lawyer stated that Sara Khalifa’s brother denied any knowledge of the incident, adding: “On the day of the arrest, I was detained inside my apartment without seeing a search warrant or an arrest order.”
The defense highlighted that presenting the search warrant is legally crucial and could influence the case, especially as the initial investigation was considered incomplete.
The defense also pointed out gaps in the investigation, questioning how drugs entered Egypt and why the defendants were not apprehended earlier, despite the alleged long-term nature of the crime, requesting the acquittal of their clients.
