School Trip Turns Into Crisis After Allegations of Leaving 28 Students Stranded in Desert Road
Authorities launch investigation after a complaint accused a private school in New Cairo of abandoning students on a desert highway following a bus breakdown during a school trip.
A private school in New Cairo has come under investigation following allegations of negligence during a school trip that took place on the Cairo–Alexandria desert road.
Reports indicate that a bus carrying 28 students experienced a sudden mechanical failure at kilometer 52 on the desert highway while returning from an educational trip to Alexandria.
The complainant claimed that the school administration left the students at the scene with only one supervisor, while the school principal reportedly left the location using another means of transport, according to the statement.
Security forces responded immediately after receiving distress calls from parents and students, securing the area and ensuring the safety of the children until an alternative bus arrived to transport them safely back to their families.
Authorities have opened an official investigation to examine the circumstances of the incident, while a police report has been filed against the school administration pending legal action.
