The Ministry of Interior revealed details of an incident in which a man was assaulted and threatened with a knife in Giza. Security forces quickly identified and arrested the perpetrator, a resident of the Omrania Police Department district, who confessed to committing the act. Legal procedures have been initiated against him.
In a separate operation, anti-narcotics authorities successfully dismantled a criminal gang composed of eight members — including three foreign nationals — involved in extracting an active substance from a medical drug used in the production of crystal meth (ice), in preparation for smuggling it abroad.
The gang operated from a hideout in the Menoufia Governorate, where they were caught with **30 kilograms of crystal meth**, **40 kilograms of the extracted active substance**, **250,000 medical tablets**, various extraction tools, and **seven vehicles**.
Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to their criminal activities. The seized drugs are valued at approximately **66 million Egyptian pounds**. These operations highlight the Interior Ministry’s continued efforts to combat organized crime and deliver preemptive strikes against drug traffickers.
