Al-Azhar Fatwa Center stated that child sexual abuse is a major sin, a betrayal and violation of childhood and innocence, contrary to all sound natural instincts. Islamic law prioritizes the protection of children, granting them rights from birth, and warns against such immoral acts, which stem from corrupted minds and base desires.

The fatwa highlighted that the legal and moral punishment for abuse is severe, citing the Prophet ﷺ: “Allah hates the obscene and lewd” and “Allah hates the obscene person who commits indecency.” Parents and guardians are urged to act firmly against perpetrators and implement legal measures.

Collaboration Between Families and Institutions:

Al-Azhar stressed that protecting children requires cooperation between family, schools, society, and authorities. Prevention begins at home, by building trust, encouraging free expression, and teaching children about bodily privacy and their right to protection.

Psychological and Physical Impact:

Child abuse can cause long-lasting psychological and physical harm. Families must observe behavioral changes, monitor school and online interactions, and be alert to any suspicious signs.

Role of Mothers and Educators:

Mothers are encouraged to listen patiently and supportively to their children without intimidation or scolding, while schools should provide safe environments and train staff to handle disclosures and suspicions properly.

Legal Punishment and Justice:

Strict legal measures are essential to deter offenders, protect childhood, and preserve the integrity of natural innocence.

Conclusion:

Protecting children is an ongoing responsibility that requires vigilance and cooperation between family, educational institutions, society, and the state, ensuring a safe environment where children grow with confidence, dignity, and awareness of their rights.
