With the arrival of Jumada al-Awwal, hearts turn toward heaven in whispers of faith. Prayer, the essence of worship, becomes the bridge between the soul and its Creator.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ taught her this comprehensive supplication:
“O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, immediate and delayed, what I know and what I do not know. And I seek refuge in You from all that is evil, immediate and delayed, what I know and what I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the best of what Your servant and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what he sought refuge from. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for what brings me closer to it in word or deed, and I seek refuge in You from Hellfire and what brings me closer to it in word or deed. And I ask You to make every decree You decree for me good.”
Among the prayers that bring comfort and relief:
“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek help; rectify all my affairs and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.”
“O Allah, You who make the difficult easy and soften the hardest of things, ease my path and expand my chest.”
“There is no ease except what You make easy, and You can make what is hard easy if You will.”
For those with a need, the Prophet ﷺ taught the blind man to perform ablution, pray two rak‘ahs, and then say:
“O Allah, I ask You and turn to You by means of Your Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of mercy. O Muhammad, I turn by means of you to my Lord that He may fulfill my need.”
Short and powerful supplications include:
“Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”
“O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me.”
“O Controller of hearts, make our hearts steadfast upon Your obedience.”
Let this month be a time of renewal, remembrance, and divine connection. Keep your tongue moist with dhikr, your heart full of faith, and your soul open to mercy.
