Palestinian forward Hamed Hamdan of Petrojet has seen his prospects of joining Al Ahly during the upcoming January transfer window diminish, despite being previously recommended to the club by internal sources ⚪🔴
Sources within Al Ahly revealed that the idea of signing Hamdan has limited support in the administration, as other players are considered technically superior. Additionally, Petrojet’s high financial demands to release the player make the deal challenging.
The sources added that Al Ahly would have engaged in serious negotiations if there had been a strong intent to sign Hamdan, but the club is currently prioritizing a high-quality foreign striker to strengthen its attacking options, following Wissam Abu Ali’s move to the US league last summer.
Hamdan was also linked with Zamalek and was very close to joining the club before the season started, but the team’s financial problems prevented the transfer. While his Palestinian nationality could have facilitated registration as a domestic player for Al Ahly, the club did not pursue this option, preferring to focus on top-tier foreign alternatives to fill the attacking gap.
