Al Ahly have officially filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor through the club’s legal counsel Mohamed Othman ⚖️, against former Zamalek SC star Medhat Abdel Hady, following a widely circulated video that sparked controversy on social media 🔥.
The video reportedly contained statements considered offensive to Al Ahly and its fans, prompting the club’s legal department to take official action to protect its rights.
In response, Medhat Abdel Hady broke his silence via Facebook 📱, stating that he never intended to insult any party and that the circulating clip was taken out of context.
He explained that he was addressing a fan who was using abusive language and was trying to calm the situation and encourage respectful behavior, but the edited clip led to a misunderstanding and public controversy.
The former Zamalek player emphasized his respect for Al Ahly, its management, and fans, stressing that football rivalry should remain on the pitch ⚽ and that mutual respect is the foundation of Egyptian football supporters.
He concluded by reaffirming his rejection of any offensive remarks or behavior toward any club or its supporters, stating that what was shared does not reflect his true stance.
