The aim is to give them regular match time in a competitive environment, helping them gain vital technical and physical experience. Samir Mohamed is considered one of the club’s promising prospects and has the full confidence of the coaching staff. Meanwhile, Al Ahly’s first team continues its intense preparations for the upcoming season. The squad is set to play two friendly matches today, Sunday, in one day—a move aimed at testing player readiness and giving as many squad members as possible game time ahead of the Egyptian Premier League’s kickoff.
The first friendly will be held at 6:00 PM against Petrojet at Al Salam Stadium, where head coach Marcel Koller is expected to field a mix of regular starters and returning players to assess their physical and technical form. The second match will take place at 9:00 PM against the Egyptian Youth National Team, also at Al Salam Stadium, concluding the team's preseason program.
