Nigeria Announces Squad for African Playoff for 2026 World Cup
The Nigerian Football Federation released the official 24-man squad ahead of the African playoff matches for the 2026 World Cup, led by star striker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian national football team announced its official 24-player squad in preparation for the African playoff tournament for the 2026 FIFA World Cup 🌍. Leading the squad is Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray, one of the team’s top stars.
The mini African playoff tournament will take place from November 13 to 16, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco, with participation from Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, and Nigeria, according to CAF announcements.
The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, November 13, at Prince Moulay Hassan Sports Complex. Nigeria will face Gabon in the opening match, while Cameroon will play against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the second semifinal. The final will be held on Sunday, November 16, at the same stadium 🏟️.
The winner will qualify for the FIFA intercontinental playoff in March 2026 to compete for Africa’s tenth and final World Cup spot.
