Al Ahly’s coaching staff has begun early preparations for the upcoming 2025/2026 football season, opting for an external training camp in Tunisia this July as part of the team's physical and technical pre-season program.

The players’ off-season break is set to end on July 14, after which the team will hold group training sessions at Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium for four days. They will then travel to the Tunisian city of Tabarka on July 18 to begin their training camp, which will run until July 28.

The camp is designed to boost fitness levels and help players regain technical cohesion after a period of inactivity, particularly with the club facing a packed schedule of local and continental competitions in the new season.
The training camp will include three friendly matches, the most anticipated of which is a high-profile clash against Étoile du Sahel. This match is part of the Tunisian club’s centenary celebrations and is expected to attract significant attention from both teams’ fans.

Meanwhile, Spanish head coach José Ribeiro has traveled to his home country for a short vacation and is scheduled to return to Cairo before the start of group training to resume his leadership duties during the pre-season period.

Al Ahly had exited the group stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which was held in the United States. Following that, the coaching staff granted the players an 18-day rest period to reset and begin structured preparations for what promises to be a demanding season filled with major challenges.
