A well-informed source from inside Zamalek SC has revealed new developments regarding the future of the team’s midfielder, Mohamed El-Sayed, whose contract is nearing its end with the upcoming football season set to begin in August.

According to the source, a secret meeting was recently held between Mohamed El-Sayed and two prominent officials from Al Ahly, in an attempt to explore the player’s stance on wearing the red jersey and to understand his true intentions as his contract with Zamalek nears its conclusion.

During the meeting, El-Sayed expressed a desire to pursue an overseas professional experience, confirming that he has already received several serious offers from clubs outside Egypt. He stated that he is carefully evaluating these offers and will make a final decision in the near future. He also clarified that his contract with Zamalek technically remains valid for one more season, but he does not feel completely comfortable within the team and is eager to seek a new challenge—whether abroad or domestically.
Although he showed openness to the idea of joining Al Ahly, the player noted that it would not be a straightforward move given his ongoing contract with Zamalek. This makes negotiations with the current administration particularly sensitive, especially amid the current standstill in renewal talks.

The source added that Al Ahly officials who attended the meeting did not rush the process but instead gave the player ample time to reflect, assuring him that the door remains open should he choose to make a definitive decision in favor of the Red Castle. They also promised that Al Ahly’s management would handle the contractual situation in a manner that respects all parties’ rights—provided that El-Sayed's desire is clear and publicly stated.

Notably, Mohamed El-Sayed has yet to engage in serious negotiations with Zamalek’s administration to renew his contract, despite its imminent expiration. His delay in making an official stance is seen as a sign of a genuine intention to leave. Zamalek’s board is closely monitoring his actions in the coming weeks, fearing a repeat of past situations where key players left without the club gaining technical or financial benefit.

The coming period is expected to bring more clarity to this matter, especially with clubs beginning their preparations for the new season and aiming to secure their squads with impactful additions.
