Since the Zamalek SC board, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, took over on October 23, 2023, the club has begun settling a large number of financial disputes involving coaches, players, and foreign clubs—a decisive step toward resolving international legal issues and restoring stability.
The latest of these settlements involved paying €1 million to former head coach Jaime Pacheco, officially closing his case. This followed the full payment of dues to Moroccan player Khalid Boutaïb, which led to Zamalek receiving a letter from FIFA confirming the lifting of the transfer ban imposed on the club.
The list of payments was as follows:
Sporting Lisbon (Portugal): $1,517,800
Caracas FC (Venezuela): $512,390
Lyon 36 (Nigeria): $24,364
Ferreira’s assistants: $83,455
Benjamin Acheampong (Ghana): $340,130
Khalid Boutaïb (Morocco): $2,819,000
Ahmed Belhaj (Morocco): $46,398
FIFA: $68,000
Jaime Pacheco (Portugal): $1,141,280
With these payments, the board has settled a total of $6,522,913, marking a major move that highlights the current administration’s commitment to resolving longstanding issues and restoring the club’s financial and legal stability.
