In a new twist within Egyptian football, Ahmed Sayed “Zizo,” the recently signed Al Ahly star, has officially filed a complaint with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) against his former club Zamalek, demanding overdue financial entitlements related to his time at the club over the past two seasons.

Journalist Ahmed Abdel Baset revealed on his official Facebook page that the player is seeking a substantial sum of EGP 82.5 million, representing all his outstanding dues, according to the formal complaint submitted by Zizo’s legal representative to the EFA.

This move marks a significant legal escalation from one of Zamalek’s most influential former players, who was a key figure in the team over recent years and played a pivotal role in securing several domestic titles.

Meanwhile, Zamalek continues its preparations for the upcoming season with intense focus on both the technical and administrative fronts. The squad held a training session on Tuesday evening at the Military Academy Stadium, which featured extensive fitness and rehabilitation drills under the supervision of Colombian head coach Juan Carlos Osorio.

The players were divided into groups and underwent varied exercises aimed at gradually improving physical fitness, as part of a comprehensive program to prepare them physically and technically before the season kicks off.

As part of their pre-season build-up, Zamalek will play a strong friendly against Orange FC this Friday at 8:00 PM at the Military Academy Stadium. The match is one of a series of preparatory games designed to assess the team’s readiness and fine-tune tactical plans ahead of official competitions.

Zizo’s financial dispute is expected to cast a shadow over the atmosphere at Zamalek, especially amid the club’s ongoing financial difficulties, which have already impacted contract renewals and summer transfer dealings.
