Foundation and Early Days
Ghazl El Mahalla was founded in 1936 inside the Misr Spinning and Weaving Factory as a recreational outlet for the workers and a source of pride for the industrial city of El Mahalla El Kubra. The team entered the Egyptian Premier League in the 1950s and quickly gained recognition for its collective play, technical flair, and unique style  earning the nickname “The Brazil of Egypt.”
