Artist Laila Ghofran reopened painful memories as she spoke about the loss of her daughter during a televised interview on a Lebanese channel, sharing deeply emotional and heartfelt reflections.

She expressed profound sorrow, emphasizing that years have passed but the pain remains unchanged, saying:
“It feels like a part of my body is missing… deep inside, there’s something big that’s broken within me.”

On Justice and Acceptance

Addressing the idea of justice, Ghofran explained her humane stance, stating that she does not support the loss of another life and that no form of punishment could heal her heart.

She said:
“I am against anyone else losing their life. Justice does not bring my daughter back. I will never see her again.”

Her words reflected a sense of resignation mixed with deep, enduring grief.

Return to Music

On the artistic front, Laila Ghofran announced her return to the music scene during a press conference held in Beirut, expressing optimism and determination to move forward.

She stated that life must go on and that she is happy to resume working and preparing new musical projects, viewing art as a source of strength and continuity.

Laila Ghofran was born on March 19, 1961, and later obtained Egyptian citizenship.
At the age of sixteen, she moved from Morocco to France without her family’s knowledge, traveling by ship for four days in 1980.

She was married to producer Ibrahim El Akkad, with whom she had her daughter Heba Ibrahim El Akkad, whose loss deeply marked her personal and artistic journey.
