A Global Platform Preserving Egypt’s Cultural Heritage
The Aswan International Sculpture Symposium celebrates its 30th anniversary, with broad participation from Egyptian and international artists, cementing Aswan as a global hub for sculpture and an important milestone in Egypt’s artistic scene.
Architect Hamdi El-Sotouhi, Assistant Minister of Culture for Cultural Development Projects and Supervisor of the Cultural Development Fund, announced that the Aswan International Sculpture Symposium marks its 30th edition this year, highlighting an exceptional journey of creativity spanning three decades.
📈 This year’s edition saw a 25% increase in participating artists compared to previous editions, reflecting growing local and international interest. The symposium site has also been fully upgraded to provide a creative and inspiring environment, ensuring high-quality artistic output for both artists and visitors.
El-Sotouhi emphasized that past successes were the result of collaborative efforts among artists, organizers, and supporters, along with strong partnerships with Aswan Governorate and continuous backing from the Ministry of Culture, making the symposium a true international platform.
💡 Maintaining the symposium’s prestige and continuity is a shared responsibility, requiring ongoing innovation and development to ensure future editions continue to add value to the journey that began in 1996, reinforcing Aswan as a center attracting top global talent.
🌟 Through this vision, the Aswan Symposium continues to preserve Egypt’s artistic heritage and demonstrates the country’s soft power on the international stage, setting a model for integrating art into cultural development.
