Tomorrow, Maqamat Salon hosts a special seminar on the pioneering Egyptian musician and composer Sefar Ali, founder of the Arabic Music Institute and creator of timeless national melodies.
Tomorrow evening, at 8 PM, the House of Arabic Singing (Prince Beshteck Palace) will host Maqamat Salon’s seminar titled “The Oud Prince… Sefar Ali”, in collaboration with the Cultural Program Radio. 🏛️🎵
The seminar highlights Egypt’s rich musical heritage and its pioneers, offering a unique opportunity to explore the life and contributions of musician Sefar Ali (1884 – ?), renowned for his role in music education and establishing the Arabic Music Institute during King Fouad I’s era. ✨
Sefar Ali was among the first composers to incorporate the musical ensemble (takht) into songs, composing over fifty national anthems, most notably “Eslemi Ya Masr”, associated with the 1919 revolution and formerly the national anthem of Egypt. He was also a pioneer in song dialogues and taqatiq, mentoring generations of prominent Egyptian musicians such as Abdel Halim Nuwaira, Abdel Halim Hafez, and Ismail Shabana. 🎶🌟
This seminar is more than a historical overview—it is a knowledge journey into Egyptian national and traditional music, highlighting its role in shaping cultural and artistic identity for new generations. It is an invitation for the audience to immerse themselves in the rich legacy of Egypt’s musical pioneers. 💖🎼
✨ Conclusion: Preserving musical heritage is not a luxury but a cultural and social duty. Let’s all participate and support initiatives that revive the spirit of Egyptian national music. 🎵❤️
