A Pain Only God Knows: Shams Al Baroudi Remembers Her Late Son
Veteran actress Shams Al Baroudi opened up about the loss of her late son Abdullah, describing a profound pain only God can understand, while emphasizing faith and preparation for the afterlife.
During a recent interaction, a fan asked Shams Al Baroudi why she often refers to her late husband Hassan Youssef as her love and soulmate, but does not use similar expressions for her late son Abdullah.
Shams responded emotionally:
“I don’t know what to tell you… Have you ever lost the apple of your eye? Abdullah was the apple of my heart… a pain only God knows.”
Faith and Spiritual Focus After Loss
Shams emphasized her constant devotion to reading the Quran, explaining that it reflects her belief in preparing for the afterlife, with the grave being the final abode of every human, and praying that it be a garden of paradise.
In her interview on the program “Al-Hikaya Min Al-Bidaya”, she shared that after the passing of her husband, her life priorities completely shifted, focusing on prayer, Quran recitation, and spiritual reflection, and she strives to complete the Quran once or twice each month.
She added that this path brings her inner peace and tranquility, while preparing her spiritually for the hereafter.
Shams described this period of her life as a time of deep spiritual connection, with closeness to God becoming the center of her daily life and her primary refuge.
