In a major development in the global K-pop scene, the group AB6IX has officially entered a pivotal stage in its career following the expiration of its exclusive contracts with BRANDNEW MUSIC. This marks a significant turning point after seven years of activity since their debut in 2019 🎤✨.
🌟 The End of an Era… or a New Beginning?
According to the official announcement, the group’s exclusive contracts will end on May 25. This has led to extensive discussions between the members and the agency regarding their future together. While renewal decisions are still under discussion, it has been confirmed that AB6IX will temporarily pause group activities after fulfilling their remaining commitments.
This decision does not signal the end of AB6IX, but rather a “strategic break” aimed at allowing each member to reassess their individual artistic direction — a common step in K-pop when groups reach a mature stage in their careers.
🎤 Temporary Farewell Concert "6IX TO SEVEN"
One of the most notable highlights is the announcement of the special concert titled "6IX TO SEVEN", scheduled for May 23–24, 2026.
The concert is expected to serve as an emotional moment between the members and their fanbase ABNEW 💙 before entering the temporary hiatus phase. It will likely feature their most iconic songs along with special stages reflecting their journey since debut.
💡 Background and Impact
The decision followed extensive internal discussions between the members and BRANDNEW MUSIC, which emphasized full support for each member’s future direction, whether through contract renewal or individual career paths.
This reflects a growing trend in K-pop, where artists increasingly seek balance between group identity and personal growth after years of intense schedules, global tours, and continuous production cycles.
🌍 What This Means for Fans
ABNEW fans are currently experiencing mixed emotions 💔✨ — sadness over the temporary pause, but strong support for the members’ future journeys.
Each member of AB6IX is expected to pursue individual activities in music, acting, and entertainment, potentially expanding their global influence beyond group promotions.
🚀 A New Chapter for AB6IX
Although group activities will pause, AB6IX continues to hold a strong presence in the K-pop industry. Similar breaks in the past have often led to stronger comebacks and more mature artistic evolution.
The upcoming period will determine whether the group reunites as a full team or continues primarily through individual projects with occasional collaborations.
💬 Conclusion
AB6IX now stands at a defining crossroads. Between uncertainty and opportunity, one thing remains clear — their journey is far from over, and their influence in K-pop continues to evolve 🎶✨.
