The investigative authorities in Menoufia Governorate have ordered the release of the media personality known by the nickname “the cheerful presenter” after completing the initial investigations with him, in exchange for a bail set at EGP 20,000.

The release decision came after security forces arrested him at his home in the village of Al-Mai, affiliated with the Shebin El-Kom Center in Menoufia. The arrest was carried out during a joint security operation between the investigations unit of the Shebin El-Kom police station and the morality police department, following several complaints that had recently been filed against him.

The incident dates back to the accused posting videos that viewers described as indecent and contrary to societal values and traditions. In the videos, he appeared with several dancers, adopting a flamboyant style that sparked widespread controversy on social media—particularly on Facebook, where he has a large following regularly engaging with his content.
Initial investigations indicated that the videos he broadcast contained inappropriate content that violates regulations governing online publishing. This prompted the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal measures and begin interrogating him over the charges brought against him.

“The cheerful presenter” hails from the village of Al-Mai in Shebin El-Kom and is known for his unconventional media activity on digital platforms, which has made him a controversial figure in recent months—especially as criticism of his content increased from citizens and activists alike.

Investigations are still ongoing regarding the circulated material, amid intensified monitoring by security agencies to detect any similar violations that may threaten ethical values or contribute to the spread of unregulated content on social media.
