Egyptian actor Ahmed Maher shared details of a notable incident from his career during his honoring seminar at the Egyptian National Theater Festival.
Maher revealed that he once refused the participation of late actor Hussein El Imam in an artistic project directed by his father, legendary filmmaker Hassan El Imam, because Hussein had not obtained the required acting permit at that time.
The actor explained that his decision was not personal, but rather a result of his responsibility as the head of the Work and Complaints Committee at the Actors Syndicate.
Ahmed Maher stated that he was responsible for applying professional regulations fairly, regardless of the names or popularity of the artists involved.
He said that Hassan El Imam later approached the syndicate to complete the required procedures and obtain the necessary permit for Hussein El Imam.

Maher was honored during the 19th edition of the Egyptian National Theater Festival, which celebrated several major figures in Egyptian art and theater.
