Mohamed Al-Daif, the head of the media center at Al-Fateh Saudi Club, denied the rumors circulating in recent days about the departure of Portuguese coach José Gomez from the team to join Al-Ahly SC after the departure of Swiss coach Marcel Koller. Al-Daif stated in exclusive comments to "Cairo 24" that they have no connection with the rumors circulated in the media regarding negotiations between Al-Ahly and Gomez, confirming that the coach will continue in his role with the team in the upcoming period.

Some media reports had indicated that Al-Ahly had entered serious negotiations with Gomez to take over the coaching role following the temporary appointment of Marcel Koller, who is expected to leave at the end of the current season, especially with the preparations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup scheduled to take place in June. These reports also suggested that Al-Ahly sought to sign the Portuguese coach before the start of the prestigious tournament.

However, the media head at Al-Fateh Saudi Club confirmed that there is no truth to the rumors about negotiations with Al-Ahly, and that Gomez remains under contract with the team and will not leave at this time. Al-Daif mentioned that the coach is working continuously with the team and is focused on his current mission with Al-Fateh.

It is noteworthy that José Gomez had previously managed Zamalek before moving to Al-Fateh, where he achieved good results with the team in the Saudi Pro League. According to sources close to the Saudi club, the Portuguese coach has only one match left in the Saudi league, and if he wins it, Al-Fateh will secure its place in the Saudi Pro League for the next season. This reflects Gomez's ability to make a positive impact on the team in a short period.

Earlier, Coach Gomez spoke about the possibility of coaching Al-Ahly and confirmed that he is currently fully focused on his role with Al-Fateh, mentioning that he has several important matches with the team at the moment and did not discuss his future with any other club. Gomez stated in televised comments that he is 100% committed to Al-Fateh and is working to achieve the best results for the team.

Additionally, Al-Fateh Saudi Club had previously announced its right to extend the Portuguese coach's contract for another season after the current season, meaning the club retains the option to keep Gomez for the next season. This decision further confirms the club's intention to continue with the coach in the near future.

Regarding the negotiations, the head of Al-Fateh's media center clarified that the Saudi club is not in a position to enter into negotiations with Al-Ahly regarding Gomez at the moment, considering the rumors to be baseless. He also emphasized that Al-Fateh is focused on continuing to work with Coach Gomez and aims to achieve better results in the Saudi league and other local competitions.

In conclusion, it remains clear that Coach José Gomez is still under contract with Al-Fateh Saudi Club and is fully focused on achieving the team's objectives in the coming period. Should there be any negotiations with Al-Ahly or other clubs, Al-Fateh remains the club with the final decision on the fate of the Portuguese coach
