In a wonderful celebratory atmosphere in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, coinciding with the Arab Poetry Day and Arab cultural symbols, the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO) honored actor Yehia El-Fakharany today, awarding him the title of "Cultural Personality of the Year" for 2025 in recognition of his significant contributions over decades in enriching the Arab artistic and cultural scene.


The honoring ceremony was held this Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Afaq Hall at the International Book and Publishing Exhibition in Rabat, in the presence of several important figures, including Egyptian Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, as well as ministers, intellectuals, and poets from various Arab countries. The event was organized jointly by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication and ALECSO.


The Egyptian Ministry of Culture had nominated Yehia El-Fakharany for this honor, and received an official letter from ALECSO confirming its appreciation for this selection, highlighting that the recognition represents a tribute to El-Fakharany's artistic and cultural career, which has influenced the Arab audience for many years.


The Egyptian Minister of Culture confirmed that this recognition is a testament to the value of the Egyptian artist and his prominent role in shaping the Arab identity, as well as reflecting Egypt's cultural leadership and the importance of soft power in enhancing dialogue between Arab nations and the world.


Yehia El-Fakharany is one of the most prominent artistic figures in the Arab world. He is known for his many outstanding works in theater, cinema, and television and has contributed to presenting a vibrant image of the cultural and human diversity of the Arab character, making him one of the most influential artists in the history of contemporary Arab art.
