The production company behind Giant has unveiled the official poster of the highly anticipated sports drama starring Ameer El-Masry, who appears seated in the middle of a boxing ring, bruised yet resolute — a striking image that encapsulates the spirit of the film.
The movie follows the life of Naseem Hamed, the British-Yemeni boxing champion whose journey from humble beginnings to global fame captivated sports fans around the world. With the help of his devoted yet demanding coach, Hamed’s story becomes one of ambition, struggle, and triumph.
Giant features an impressive ensemble cast, including Pierce Brosnan, Sanchez Brown, Arian Nik, Asan N’jie, Andy M. Milligan, and Katherine Dow Blyton, written and directed by Rowan Athale.
Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Ameer El-Masry wrote:
“It’s one of the toughest projects I’ve ever prepared for, but also the most fulfilling. I’m grateful to have worked with such an incredible team.”
He also thanked photographer Thomas Elliott Wood for capturing powerful behind-the-scenes moments.
El-Masry’s latest appearance before Giant was in the Ramadan series “Maliha”, directed by Amr Arafa and written by Rasha El Gazzar, starring Diab, Ashraf Zaki, Mervat Amin, and Cyrine Khass. The show depicted a Palestinian family’s struggle to return to Gaza through Egypt, exploring deep emotional and social layers.
With Giant, Ameer El-Masry continues his remarkable ascent in international cinema, representing Arab talent on the world stage.
