Just three days before his planned trip to Australia, Amer Mounib attended a Ramadan suhoor gathering attended by several major figures from the Egyptian entertainment industry, including Madiha Kamel, Mahmoud Yassin, Nour El Sherif and composer Helmy Bakr.
Those present asked him to sing, and he performed one of composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab’s songs.
His voice immediately attracted attention, particularly from Helmy Bakr, who encouraged him not to leave for Australia.
Bakr advised Mounib to give his musical talent a real opportunity, study music and pursue singing professionally.
That advice became a decisive turning point in Mounib’s life, encouraging him to pursue the dream he had carried since childhood.
A Decade of Training Before Stardom
Amer Mounib did not become a star overnight. He spent around 10 years learning and training, studying music and mastering instruments including the piano and oud.
One of his biggest early challenges was finding a producer willing to invest in a new singer in a highly competitive market.
Instead of giving up, Mounib decided to finance the project himself. He sold his car, borrowed money and produced his album “Lamhi” in 1990.
