Following the release of the trailer for "The Ladder and the Snake 2," Amr Youssef clarifies that the film is rated 12+ and emphasizes it contains bold content within appropriate limits without offending family values.
Actor Amr Youssef addressed the criticism surrounding his new film "The Ladder and the Snake 2" after the trailer release, stressing that it received a 12+ age rating from the official censorship board.
Youssef explained that the film aims to be daring in the right way, without any inappropriate scenes or content that undermines family values, stating: "We want to make a bold film, and certainly not a cowardly one."
The movie "The Ladder and the Snake – Kids’ Play" is considered one of the largest romantic productions in Egyptian cinema, portraying modern human and romantic relationships through the journey of the characters Ahmed and Malak, reflecting the pulse of the current generation and offering the audience a chance to connect with their story.
The film features prominent names in Egyptian cinema, including director of photography Ahmed Tarek Bayoumi, set designer Yasmin Atef, editor Ahmed Hamdy, and composer Hisham Nazih providing the soundtrack.
This release follows Youssef’s recent success in "Darweesh," set in the 1940s, about a charming swindler who accidentally becomes a folk hero, starring Dina El-Sherbiny, Mohamed Shahin, Tara Emad, and several special guest appearances.
