The film "The Guardian" starring Hani Salama will begin filming after Eid al-Adha, focusing on the impact of social media on relationships.
Director Yasser Sami has announced that filming for the movie "The Guardian," starring the famous actor Hani Salama, will resume shortly after Eid al-Adha, in preparation for its anticipated release during the summer 2025 season. Sami expressed his hope that the film will receive a wide positive response and achieve great popular success upon its release.
Alongside Hani Salama, the film features a cast of both young and experienced stars, including Mirihan Hussein, Maram Ali, Ahmed Al-Rafie, Mahmoud Yassin Junior, Mohamed Mehran, Basem Maghnia, and Heba Abdel Aziz. The screenplay is written by writer Tamer Abdel Halim, while the direction is handled by Yasser Sami.
The film’s story is set within a contemporary social framework, highlighting the negative impacts of social media on individual behaviors and social relationships. It focuses on the psychological and social aspects of this widespread phenomenon. The film also includes outdoor scenes shot in locations outside of Egypt to add a diverse and visually appealing atmosphere.
This project follows the success of director Yasser Sami’s program "Ramadan Cannon," featuring artist Mohamed Ramadan, which aired during Ramadan 2025 and received wide viewership and great audience admiration, particularly for its humanitarian theme centered on helping everyday people in Egyptian streets and engaging with their daily issues.
As a result, audiences eagerly await the release of "The Guardian," expecting a new cinematic work that carries important social messages within the modern Egyptian film scene.
