Aswan Celebrates Arts and Culture.. International Festival Parade Brings Global Spirit
A dazzling parade kicked off at Aswan’s Tourist Market, marking the 13th edition of the Aswan International Festival for Culture and Arts, featuring Egyptian and international folk troupes with large audience participation
This evening, the city of Aswan witnessed the launch of the Aswan International Festival for Culture and Arts parade, starting from Aswan Station and passing through the Tourist Market, as part of efforts to boost tourism and promote Egypt’s soft power 🌍.
The festival is organized by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces in cooperation with the Central Administration for International Cultural Relations, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henu, Minister of Culture, and Major General Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, with the presence of prominent figures including Assistant Minister of Culture Major General Khaled El-Laban, Deputy Governor Eng. Amr Lashin, Canadian Ambassador to Cairo Ulrik Shannon, artist Ahmed El-Shafie, and directors of various cultural administrations 🌟.
🎭 In a joyful parade, Egyptian and international troupes performed live shows showcasing the richness of Egyptian and global folk heritage, accompanied by the sounds of mizmar and drums, with enthusiastic audience participation, singing, dancing, and photography 📸💃🪘.
The festival features 6 Egyptian folk troupes from Beni Suef, Anfoushi, Aswan, Kafr El-Sheikh, Port Said, and Arish, alongside 8 international troupes representing Sudan, Palestine, Montenegro, Latvia, India, Greece, Kazakhstan, and Tunisia 🌏.
💡 The festival program extends beyond street performances, including a river parade on Nile boats on Wednesday morning and the official opening ceremony at Fawzi Fawzi Summer Theatre, followed by a series of artistic shows starting February 5 at various cultural and tourist venues, integrating culture and tourism 🛶🎶.
Organized by the Central Administration for Artistic Affairs, represented by the General Administration of Festivals and the General Administration of Folk Arts, in cooperation with South Upper Egypt Cultural Region and Aswan Cultural Branch, the festival concludes with a special artistic show on February 9, reaffirming its status as an international cultural platform in Egypt and a bridge for cross-cultural communication 🌟🤝.
