In a special interview with Wahed Men Al Nas, Basant Reda spoke about her late mother, Hind Rostom, clarifying that her marriage to Dr. Fayyad in 1960 and her retirement in 1978 were personal choices, not caused by marriage, reflecting her satisfaction with her artistic journey and peace of mind ✨
Basant mentioned that her mother frequently visited Sayyida Nafisa Mosque, Sayyida Zainab Mosque, and Al-Hussein Mosque, places she loved for their spiritual tranquility. After her passing, prayers were held at these mosques, reflecting her deep faith 🕌
Hind Rostom rejected the “queen of seduction” title, believing that labels do not define an artist's value. When she cut her hair for roles, she resembled Marilyn Monroe, a striking aesthetic transformation that drew attention.
Basant also recalled her mother’s interview with the late writer Abbas Mahmoud El-Akkad, conducted for a report by Akher Sa’a magazine, where El-Akkad expressed admiration for Hind, saying her features reminded him of a woman he loved named Sara ✨
