TV presenter Basma Wahba filed an official complaint with the authorities accusing director Khaled Youssef of defamation on social media, after he posted a fabricated phone call containing direct threats and incitement from his wife.

In a special statement, Basma Wahba confirmed that the matter is now in the legal framework and expressed full confidence in the integrity of the Egyptian judiciary, which will protect her rights. She emphasized that she preferred to resort to the law instead of discussing the details of the case through the media. She added, "I was clearly wronged in that call, but I chose the path of justice and the law because I am both a presenter and a citizen."



Basma explained that the call circulated on social media was not presented in full; it was distorted, edited, and included segments not spoken by her, which completely distorted the picture. She pointed out that her voice was deliberately lowered in the fabricated recording and that she was trying to calm the situation and even offered compensation to the other party for the allegations made against her.

She also noted that it is unusual that everyone who testified with director Omar Zohran faced similar cases, referring to her experience and that of actress Hala Sedki.

She concluded by affirming her full respect for the law, calling for a precise technical examination of the flash drive submitted to the prosecution, and expressing her confidence that the Egyptian judiciary will issue a fair ruling in her favor.

This complaint comes amid escalating tensions between Basma Wahba and director Khaled Youssef following the spread of controversial recordings, which has made the case a focus of widespread attention on social media and in the media circles.
