The Ministry of Culture announced the launch of an awareness campaign for the “Kitab” app within Egypt’s public transportation network. Screens across Metro Line 3, the high-speed train, and station platforms are now airing short informational clips introducing commuters to the app’s services, which provide free access to a large collection of books.

📚 “Kitab”: A digital library in your pocket
The app allows users to browse and read a wide range of books anytime, anywhere, at no cost. This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s efforts to promote digital reading and encourage younger generations to engage with knowledge through modern means.

🌍 Reading for everyone, without boundaries
This step is part of the Ministry’s mission to achieve cultural equity, providing reliable knowledge resources to all segments of society. It aims to build national awareness, support creativity, and preserve Egyptian identity in a rapidly digital world.

🎉 Coinciding with Cairo International Book Fair
The campaign coincides with the opening of the 57th Cairo International Book Fair, as part of a broader effort to use digital tools to spread cultural awareness and expand access to cultural content.

🤝 Government partnership to bring culture into public spaces
Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno thanked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir for supporting the collaboration. He emphasized that this initiative is part of ongoing cultural partnerships throughout the year.

The Minister also praised the cooperation of the National Authority for Tunnels and the operators of Metro Line 3 and the Capital Electric Train, stressing the goal of integrating culture into public spaces and familiarizing new generations with Egyptian cultural values.

📲 Invitation to benefit from free internet
In his closing remarks, the Minister urged citizens to follow new book additions to the app and take advantage of free internet services available at several stations to download the app and explore the cultural publications.
