The Cairo International Short Film Festival announced the launch of the first edition of the Cairo Film Platform 🎬✨, held during the seventh edition of the festival from December 16 to 21, 2025 at the Cairo Opera House 🇪🇬.
The organizing committee selected eight outstanding short film projects to participate in the platform, reflecting diverse cinematic visions and showcasing promising new talents in Arab cinema 🌟🎥:

Festival director Waheed Sobhi emphasized that the platform aims to support short film production, empower young talents, and provide professional spaces for development and production collaboration ✨.
Festival manager and critic Ahmed El-Nabawy added that the platform enhances Arab presence in independent cinema, offering filmmakers the chance to present projects in development to local and international producers, supporting institutions, and field experts 🎬🌟.
Film critic Ahmed El-Masry, general supervisor of the platform, stated that the initiative represents a key step in developing the short film industry locally and regionally, promoting emerging cinematic voices and their presence at international festivals 🌍🎥.
The festival is chaired by Waheed Sobhi, managed by Ahmed El-Nabawy, with Tamer Bagato as executive director, and the Cairo Film Platform supervised by Ahmed El-Masry.
Veteran critic Magda Khairallah praised the fifth season of El Le’ba, describing its comedy as smarter and more mature, while criticizing actor Mohamed Tharwat for repeatedly using the same vocal tone in most of his performances 🎭✨
