The Dokki Misdemeanor Court issued a ruling on Tuesday acquitting actor Mohamed Ramadan of the charges brought against him for allegedly insulting the Egyptian flag and defaming state symbols—a case that had stirred significant controversy and garnered widespread media attention in recent weeks.

The lawsuit had been filed directly by a lawyer who accused Ramadan of insulting the national flag and engaging in behavior deemed inappropriate and offensive to public values, potentially tarnishing the image of national symbols. In his claim, the plaintiff demanded the maximum legal penalties be applied.
Furthermore, the plaintiff called for Mohamed Ramadan to pay $1 billion USD in moral and emotional damages, to be allocated to the “Tahya Misr” (Long Live Egypt) Fund to support developmental projects. He argued that the alleged actions caused broad societal harm.

The plaintiff also contended that some of Ramadan’s conduct—shared across digital platforms—delivered a negative message that could undermine public taste and influence the awareness of certain audiences, prompting the need for legal action to protect public values and behavior.

After thoroughly reviewing the legal aspects of the case and hearing the arguments from both sides, the court ultimately ruled to acquit Mohamed Ramadan of all charges. This ruling effectively closes a case that had been widely followed by the public and media alike.

The verdict marks a pivotal moment in a series of controversial legal cases involving the actor. It also reinforces the importance of relying on the judiciary to resolve such matters in a fair and lawful manner.
