Dr. Heba Kotb Breaks Her Silence After Backlash Over Daughter’s Wedding
In her first statement following her daughter’s wedding, Dr. Heba Kotb responds to public criticism, emphasizing that joy is a personal matter and everyone has the right to celebrate their own way.
Dr. Heba Kotb, the well-known family relations expert, has broken her silence for the first time since the wedding of her daughter, Dina Hesham, the popular makeup artist, to defend her daughter against the wave of criticism circulating on social media.
During a phone interview with TV host Amr Adib on the show El Hekaya, Dr. Kotb stated that she chose not to pay attention to the negative comments:
“I really didn’t care about people’s reactions. It’s Dina and Hossam’s wedding — they were the happiest ones there, and that’s what matters.”
She went on to explain that each person expresses their joy differently:
“How someone chooses to celebrate is their personal freedom. Happiness reflects one’s own character and love for their partner.”
Dr. Kotb also added:
“I read a lot of harsh words about my daughter’s wedding, but I see that as some people’s strange way of congratulating. Everyone shows what’s inside them — maybe someone wanted a similar wedding but couldn’t, maybe her husband or father restricted her.”
She concluded that many of the attacks might stem from envy or judgmental attitudes, pointing out that social media has become a space for impulsive opinions rather than constructive dialogue.
