🎭 "Art on the Beach" Kicks Off with Huge Public Attendance
The Roman Theater in Ras El Bar hosted the opening night of the "Art on the Beach" program, organized by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces as part of the Ministry of Culture's summer activities.
The initiative is held under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Acting Minister of Culture, and aims to bring artistic performances directly to beaches and public spaces through the national project "Culture is Life."
Large numbers of families and vacationers attended the free event, enjoying an evening filled with authentic Egyptian folklore, music, and cultural entertainment. ✨🎶
🌟 Cultural Leaders Attend the Opening Ceremony
The launch event was attended by several senior cultural officials, including Ahmed El-Shafie, Head of the Central Administration for Artistic Affairs, Ahmed Sami Khater, Head of the East Delta Cultural Region, and Nagwa Kiwan, Director-General of Damietta Culture.
Their participation reflects the Ministry's commitment to expanding cultural access and supporting artistic activities across Egypt's coastal destinations during the summer season.
💃 Assiut Folk Arts Troupe Opens the Festival
The opening performance featured the Assiut Folk Arts Troupe, presenting a collection of traditional Upper Egyptian dances inspired by the country's rich cultural heritage.
The audience enjoyed performances including Al-Tahmila, Al-Assaya, Al-Ghazal, and Arouset El-Mawled, showcasing authentic Egyptian traditions through colorful costumes and energetic choreography.
Singer Ahmed Zahir also performed the popular song "Sallim Ala Lamma Qabalni," while the evening concluded with a spectacular Tanoura dance, one of the audience's favorite performances. 💃🎵
🎼 Bringing Art to Summer Destinations
According to Ministry officials, the program aims to make arts accessible to everyone by organizing free performances in public gathering places during the busy summer vacation season.
The initiative features performances by folk dance groups, traditional ensembles, and Arabic music orchestras, offering diverse artistic experiences for audiences of all ages.
📅 57 Free Performances Throughout August
The "Art on the Beach" program includes 57 free performances across Damietta and Dakahlia Governorates.
A total of 38 performances will be held at the Roman Theater in Ras El Bar and New Damietta Theater between August 1 and August 25, while 19 additional performances will take place at Gamasa Theater from August 3 to August 26.
The initiative reflects the Ministry's vision of promoting culture beyond traditional venues while preserving Egypt's artistic heritage.
