Egyptian actress Badriya Tolba has sparked widespread controversy in recent hours after speaking publicly about her connection to an old promotional advertisement for a herbal weight-loss product, following numerous complaints and messages from women who had used the product.

Badriya confirmed that several users told her the product failed to deliver the advertised results, explaining that it did not help them lose weight as promised. Some women also complained about gaining weight and criticized the high price of the product compared to its actual effectiveness.

In her first official statement, the actress explained through her personal Facebook account that she contacted the product owner immediately after receiving the complaints, requesting that the advertisement be removed and its circulation stopped. However, no action has been taken so far, prompting her to pursue legal action through her lawyer in order to protect affected consumers and stop the continued use of the advertisement associated with her name.

She also clarified that her participation in the advertising campaign came after receiving assurances from the producing company regarding the ingredients of the herbal product and its effectiveness. She noted that the advertisement had been filmed nearly a year ago and that she was unaware of any issues related to the product at the time.

Badriya Tolba further stressed that the product does not contain any harmful substances, emphasizing that her current position is not linked to any financial disputes with the company, but rather comes out of respect for her audience after repeated complaints regarding the product’s ineffectiveness.

In a separate development, Egyptian judicial authorities recently ended the controversy surrounding a case involving the actress after a court ruling cleared her of accusations related to insulting Egyptians and misusing social media platforms.
