Egyptian Film “Safe Exit” Officially Selected for Berlinale

“Safe Exit” marks a new milestone for Egyptian cinema with its world premiere at the Berlinale, competing in the Panorama section of the festival’s 76th edition

The Egyptian film “Safe Exit”, directed by Mohamed Hamad, will have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section, during the festival’s 76th edition, taking place from February 12 to 22.

Set within a psychological thriller framework, the film follows a young security guard in Cairo who confronts unresolved trauma after losing his parents in religious and ethnic violence a decade earlier. The narrative dives deep into memory, guilt, and inner survival 🧠✨

The cast includes Marwan Walid, Noha Fouad, and Hazem Essam, with cinematography by Mohamed El-Sharqawy, editing by Dina Farouk, and sound design by Mohamed El-Tawil.
