The El Gouna Film Festival witnessed a touching moment as Egyptian director Enas El Degheidy expressed admiration and gratitude toward the legendary Yousra, who was honored with a special exhibition celebrating five decades of artistic excellence and contributions to Arab cinema.
During her remarks, El Degheidy congratulated Yousra for her remarkable legacy, emphasizing that her influence transcends acting—it represents dedication, inspiration, and a deep connection with audiences across generations.
In a light-hearted moment, she turned to her close friend Elham Shahin, saying: “I’ve been around for 45 years, so I guess we’ll meet again in five years at my own exhibition,” a playful remark that drew laughter and applause from the crowd.
The ceremony also featured a mesmerizing musical performance by Lilly, who delivered renditions of iconic global and Egyptian film songs such as Nessun Dorma, La Vie en Rose, Volare, Jai Ho, Tito, and Mafia. She was joined by young singer Aisha Al-Suwaidi, whose voice added youthful charm, while Ihab Shawy’s poetic narrations deepened the emotional resonance of the show.
The 8th edition of the festival continues with a strong lineup of more than 70 films from around the world, alongside tributes to Mona Shalaby, recipient of the “Creative Achievement Award,” and global icon Cate Blanchett, honored as “Hero of Humanity” for her artistic and humanitarian contributions.
