Holy Quran Radio has announced that it will begin broadcasting the complete Mujawwad Quran recited by the renowned Egyptian reciter Sheikh Mahmoud Ali Al-Banna for the first time.
The daily broadcast will start on August 10 at 8:55 PM, as part of the "Jewels of Holy Quran Radio" series, which showcases rare archival recordings of Egypt's legendary Quran reciters.
Sheikh Mahmoud Ali Al-Banna is widely regarded as one of the greatest voices in the history of Quranic recitation. His distinctive tone, exceptional mastery of Tajweed, and deeply spiritual style earned him admiration across the Arab and Islamic world.
Born on December 17, 1926, in Shubra Bas, Menoufia Governorate, Al-Banna memorized the Holy Quran at a young age and was officially approved as a radio reciter in 1948, when he was just 22 years old.
Throughout a career spanning more than three decades, he recorded thousands of recitations and participated in numerous religious events across the Islamic world before passing away on July 20, 1985.
The new broadcast follows Holy Quran Radio's ongoing efforts to preserve Egypt's Quranic heritage, after recently airing the complete Murattal recitation of Sheikh Mohamed Siddiq Al-Minshawi and the Mujawwad recitation of Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary.
The initiative reflects the station's commitment to preserving rare recordings and introducing younger generations to the timeless legacy of Egypt's greatest Quran reciters.
