The Egyptian cinema community mourns the loss of director Amr Bayoumi, as the Cinema Professions Syndicate revealed details of his funeral reception amid deep sorrow among colleagues and admirers.


Funeral Reception Date and Location

The funeral reception for late director Amr Bayoumi will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Al-Rahma Mosque Event Hall, located on Mohamed Sabry Abu Alam Street, Bab El-Louk, Downtown Cairo.

The reception will take place after Maghrib prayer, from 5:30 PM until 10:00 PM.


Amr Bayoumi’s Directorial Career

Born on September 13, 1962, Amr Bayoumi graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema – Directing Department in 1985.
He began his career as an assistant director and contributed to the production of nearly 15 films between 1984 and 1988.

One of his most notable works was the film “Running of the Beasts” (Gari Al-Wohoush) released in 1987, starring major Egyptian cinema icons such as Nour El-Sherif and Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.
