Georgina Rizk, the Lebanese model, actress, and former Miss Universe, celebrates her 66th birthday today, marking a life full of achievements both in Lebanon and across the Arab world.

Born on January 3, 1953, to a Maronite Christian family with a Lebanese father and Hungarian mother, Georgina won the title of Miss Lebanon in 1970. She then represented Lebanon at the 1971 Miss Universe pageant in Miami Beach, Florida, becoming the first Lebanese and Middle Eastern woman to win the crown. Her victory was commemorated with a special Lebanese postage stamp.

Georgina entered the film industry before the Lebanese Civil War, starring in several films, including Guitar of Love, Bye Bye My Sweetheart, and The Queen and I.

On the personal front, she was first married to Ali Hassan Salameh, with whom she had her son Ali. In 1990, she married Lebanese singer Walid Tawfiq and gave birth to two children, Al-Waleed and Nourhan.

Celebrated composer Elias Rahbani also honored her Miss Universe victory by composing a song named after her, solidifying her status as a symbol of Lebanese beauty and cultural prominence.
