Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe expressed her joy after the Administrative Court in Egypt ruled to suspend the Musicians’ Syndicate decision that barred her from performing in Egypt, annulled the decision entirely, and ordered the syndicate to pay all legal expenses and attorney fees.
Haifa confirmed that the ruling followed her lawsuit against the arbitrary decision of the syndicate, which was issued without any legal justification or prior hearing, and was deemed by the court as an abuse of authority.
She emphasized her respect for the Egyptian judiciary, thanking it for ensuring justice, and stated that truth and justice will always guide any situation.
Her lawyer, Sherif Hafez, clarified that the court ruled in case no. 49062/79Q, canceling the decision that denied Haifa Wehbe a permit to perform in Egypt, confirming its illegality and ordering the syndicate to bear all expenses and attorney fees.
Haifa described the ruling as a victory for justice and art, highlighting the importance of legal respect and ensuring that artists can practice their profession freely without arbitrary restrictions.
