Haifa Wehbe Wins Legal Battle Against Musicians’ Syndicate
Egyptian Administrative Court halts Musicians’ Syndicate decision denying Haifa Wehbe permission to perform, fully canceling the ruling.
The Egyptian Administrative Court ruled in favor of singer Haifa Wehbe in her lawsuit against the Musicians’ Syndicate, issuing a decision to halt the syndicate’s ruling that denied her permission to perform in Egypt, and fully canceling the contested decision, while obliging the administrative body to cover expenses and attorney fees.
Haifa Wehbe had filed the lawsuit after being surprised by the syndicate’s decision, which prevented her from holding concerts in Egypt without legal grounds, prior investigation, or hearing her statements. The court deemed the decision an abuse of authority that unfairly restricted her artistic activity.
During the session on November 16, 2025, lawyer Sherif Hafez represented Haifa Wehbe, submitting evidence proving her legal position and the invalidity of the syndicate’s decision. The court supported her stance and scheduled the final ruling for December 28, 2025, before issuing the conclusive judgment.
The court emphasized that the syndicate’s decision was tainted by misuse of authority, as it aimed not to protect the profession or public interest, but rather to limit the artist’s freedom and restrict her professional activity without legal justification.
The song is written and composed by lyricist and composer Aziz El Shafei, while the arrangement, mixing, and mastering were handled by engineer Touma, which contributed to delivering a well-rounded musical work in terms of rhythm and overall musical structure.
