The competent investigative authorities in Sixth of October City have decided to release actor Ahmed El-Sakka on bail of EGP 5,000, following his interrogation regarding a complaint filed against him by TV presenter Maha El-Saghir, in which she accused him of assaulting her both physically and verbally in front of bystanders inside an upscale residential compound.
The prosecution issued its decision after hearing El-Sakka’s testimony on the incident, which has stirred public opinion and sparked widespread reaction on social media in recent hours—especially given the former relationship between the two, as ex-spouses and co-parents to their children.
El-Sakka appeared at the prosecution office in October City to give his statement, accompanied by his legal team. He remained tight-lipped and refrained from making any media comments.
Meanwhile, Maha El-Saghir had filed an official report at October Police Station, accusing her ex-husband of physically assaulting and insulting her. She claimed that he suddenly stopped her in front of the compound gate and began hitting her and hurling offensive language in front of witnesses. She also testified that El-Sakka assaulted her private driver who was accompanying her at the time.
According to sources, El-Saghir appeared to be in a state of emotional distress while filing the complaint and was visibly shaken. An official report was filed, and the case was referred to the appropriate investigative authorities.
The prosecution heard the testimonies of Maha El-Saghir and her driver before releasing them and summoning El-Sakka for questioning—which concluded today with his release on bail, pending further investigations.
The case remains under investigation, as authorities continue to review and verify videos and images allegedly documenting the incident to assess their validity and alignment with both parties' accounts.
