He began his career as a Quranic reciter in his childhood, later joining the Cairo Conservatoire in 1938 and graduating in 1944 under the mentorship of Mostafa Bek Reda, who recommended him for the Golden Melodies Ensemble. From there, he recorded patriotic songs and launched his fame with "Mahallaha El-Donya", while training in traditional singing under Mohamed Hassan El-Shagai 🎼✨.
Karem Mahmoud stood out among peers including Mohamed Fawzi and Abdel Halim Hafez, collaborating with top composers like Fouad Mahfouz, Kamel Mahmoud, Mahmoud El-Sherif, Mohamed El-Mougy, Mohamed Sultan, and Riad El-Sunbati, delivering over 187 songs of his own compositions and performing around 280 songs of other composers 🎶💖.
His famous songs include "Samra Ya Samra", "Ala Shat Bahr El-Hawa", "Amanah Aleik", "Anabi", and "Ya Ana Ya El-Azal", still cherished by generations 👏🎤.
