The theatrical production “King Lear” continues its success at the National Theater in Ataba, celebrating its 200th performance in a new milestone that reflects the continued audience interest in the production starring Egyptian actor Yehia El-Fakharany.

The celebration comes as part of the activities of the Artistic House of Theater, alongside the continued performances of the production before audiences, with theater officials, media figures, and members of the National Theater audience expected to attend.

Revenues Exceed EGP 6 Million

“King Lear” has generated more than EGP 6 million in revenues since the beginning of its theatrical run, marking continued strong audience engagement with the production.

The 200-performance celebration is scheduled to take place after Thursday’s performance, with members of the National Theater audience attending alongside theater officials and media representatives.

The event comes under the leadership of actor Ehab Fahmy, with production by the National Theater Company headed by Sameh Megahd.

A Contemporary Vision of Shakespeare’s Classic

The production presents a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare’s internationally renowned play, featuring a translation by Dr. Fatma Moussa and a directorial vision by Shady Sorour.

The play revisits one of the most famous stories in world theater, exploring themes of power, family, conflict, and human relationships through a contemporary theatrical perspective.

Cast of King Lear

Alongside Yehia El-Fakharany, the cast includes Tarek Desouky, Hassan Youssef, Ahmed Othman, Tamer El-Kashef, Amal Abdullah, Eman Ragab, Lekaa Ali, Basma Dowidar, Tarek Sharaf, Mohamed El-Azayzi, Adel Khalaf, and Ahmed Samir.

The production team also includes Hamdy Attia, Ola Ali, El-Hussein Kajo, Ahmed El-Nasser, Ahmed Mabrouk, Diaa Shafik, and Islam Abbas.

King Lear Showtimes and Ticket Prices

“King Lear” continues to run from Thursday through Sunday every week at 9 p.m. at the National Theater in Ataba.

Tickets are available daily from the box office starting at 4 p.m., with prices beginning at EGP 60, EGP 80, and EGP 110.
